About Quarter Day

Quarterly tax, without the overload.

Quarter Day is an independent software project in development — not HMRC, and not a registered filing agent yet. This page explains what it is, what stage it's at, and what it deliberately doesn't claim.

Why it exists

Quarterly updates shouldn't need a translator.

Making Tax Digital for Income Tax asks UK sole traders and landlords to keep digital records and send quarterly updates to HMRC. Quarter Day is being built around one plain-English route through that process — record, review, send — rather than a general-purpose accounting package repurposed for the job.

Current status

  • In development — pre-launch.
  • Waiting list open — no payment or tax-account connection required.
  • HMRC recognition and the live service are not yet in place.
  • Planned price: £8/month or £80/year, unconfirmed until launch.

What this page won't do

We're not going to invent a founder story, a team page, or a list of credentials to make Quarter Day look more established than it is. It's a real project at a real, early stage — you can see exactly what's built by looking at how it's meant to work, and what's still open on the questions page.

A brighter quarter is coming.
