Let's clear a few things up.
Availability
Can I use Quarter Day yet?
Not yet. Quarter Day is in development. The waiting list is for launch information, not access to live software. There is no payment or tax-account connection at this stage. Do not delay any current tax obligations while waiting for launch.
Is Quarter Day recognised by HMRC?
HMRC recognition is part of the launch plan; it is not being claimed here. Direct filing will only be offered once the appropriate recognition and live service are ready. This walkthrough is an illustrative concept, not evidence of recognition.
Pricing
What will Quarter Day cost?
The proposed price is £8 a month or £80 a year for one person’s supported self-employment and property income. Final VAT treatment, billing terms and supported scenarios will be confirmed before subscriptions open.
Product scope
Do I still need a year-end tax return?
Yes. Quarterly updates are summaries, not tax returns. You still need to complete the year-end return. Quarter Day’s year-end route has not been confirmed and will be explained before paid launch, including any separate software or costs. Read HMRC’s guidance ↗
What if I have a business and rental properties?
The planned subscription covers one person’s supported self-employment and property income together, without a new charge for each property. It is not a multi-person or household subscription. Exact supported scenarios will be confirmed before launch.
The intended process
Do I need to understand accounting?
The intended experience uses plain English and a focused process. That does not mean professional advice can never be needed. Quarter Day will explain what it supports so you can choose the right approach for your circumstances.

Still have a question?
Join the waiting list and we'll keep you posted as more of this gets confirmed.
No payment. No tax details. Just a heads-up.
Joining the waiting list does not create a software account or commit you to a subscription. Earlier email opt-outs remain in place.
